Singapore Diary..Day2

Good morning . After yesterdays short but eventful journey, we will be going today on a half day Singapore City tour and in the second half will be going to the beautiful SENTOSA ISLAND .I woke up by 6 in the morning and did all my morning chores and got ready by 7.30. She got ready by 8 in the morning. As it was strictly written on our itinerary ,to reach hotel lobby by 8.30 Sharp, we made it quick to the breakfast café . Breakfast here is not as good as in KL. No Indian breakfast but they had some colorful flavored rice with rajma and chhole along with other items for the English breakfast, I enjoyed the English Breakfast as well as had some of the rice among with Juices an add. Ate like a king as I knew we will not be getting any Indian food but to survive on Pizza and burger on some outlet. However, we came to the hotel lobby by 8.30. The Lobby was jammed packed with Chinese tourist. There is a lot of similarity between tourist from China and tourist from West Bengal. The come in large group and turn everyplace a fish market even one cannot here his own Voice. The Chinese always visit in a queue following a flag bearded by the tour guide , What a funny way to lead a group . Anyways the Chinese  clamoring voices soon recede as they start moving out of the lobby to start their Journey. However, it was 8.45 but still no one was there to pick us. We were afraid that we were late by some minutes and as the Singaporeans are strict regarding time, the tour guide might have left us. I called our tour manager Mr Sarvanan, and he told us to wait in the lobby . We were relieved and waited for 15-20 minutes before the Van which had picked us from yesterday came today to pick us for city tour. Everybody at once were disappointed looking at the Lady IMRA (😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😓)  as her behavior yesterday was unacceptable by all of us. We were assured that today was going to be a hard and tough day to tolerate the silent and unsocial lady. She drove us for 15 minutes and does not said a word. What type of tour guide she was in contrast with the tour guide we had in KL. But soon she stopped the vehicle near the hotel Holiday Inn and told us to get down and board the bus standing in front of the Hotel. The feel of getting relief from the steel lady cannot be explained in word 😊😊😊😊😊😊. Everybody thanked God before boarding the Bus. We 4 and one more newly wed couple who were also in the van boarded the bus and the City tour started. The tour guide was an Indian in his 50s eloquently describing the history and geography of Singapore. 25 Km Long and 45 Km broad is what Singapore is which is lesser than any small Indian City. Everything is being imported, from Water to fruits and vegetables. They don’t have land , they expand the land by back filling the Ocean .They don’t have laborers . But what Singapore has is the quality manpower. They are very talented, intelligent utilizing their brain know how tin developing their Country. . Singapore has a varied culture Including Chinese, Indians, Muslims and other communities. The tour guide showed us the place where Numerous Hindi Movies has been pictured . He emphatically boasted about our PM Modi who visited Singapore thrice and done some bilateral dealings to help each other. The tour guide showed us the building where 120 number of banks is operational. Singapore has the one of busiest ports ,top universities, Hospitals and many more things. Finally our bus stopped in front of the Singapore Cricket club beside the PARLIAMENT OF SINGAPORE on the ESPLANADE PARK.  Tourist buses cannot be parked anywhere except designated place. The place mentioned above was one of the designated place where the tourist buses stops. The tour guide assembled everyone from the bus at the Esplanade park and explain the plan . The group was having only Indians with small kids, young adults, newlywed couples , old couples etc. We clicked lot of pics in the park and till then our group has gone with the tour guide. We were now walking on the queen Elizabeth walk. The entourage stops here to view the important structures which we viewed yesterday night.. From here one can see the MARINA BAY SANDS-SKYPARK  Horiontally.a clear view of the SINGAPORE FLYER and the ART SCIENCE MUSEUM .

The tour was now crossing the Anderson Bridge over the Singapore River but we are still busy in clicking pics ner the queen Elizabeth walk. Soon our group disappeared and we quickly made a chase. We are now waiting for the green light to cross the Esplanade road to catch our group who have already crossed and cannot be see, As the green man illuminates on the traffic light, we made our way and searched our group and saw the tour guide standing below a tree wiping sweat with a handkerchief holding an umbrella. The Sun was at its zenith making everyone uncomfortable. Equally irritating was the humidity around diminishing our energy and spirits . Now we all are in MERLION PARK with the MERLION STATUE throwing water from the mouth. Merlion is a Half lion and half fish and is an important statue depicting Singapore. However, later in the day we saw huge merlion in Sentosa. We stayed there almost 20 – 30 minutes before proceeding to our bus. The air conditioning of the bus gave us much needed relief from the scorching sun and almost 100 percent humid atmosphere. Our next stop was CHINESE TEMPLE . Other than free water available, the chinese temple trust sponsor for higher education for much needy students. We got down from the bus to gulp some water and to refill our water bottles. The bus then took us to a souvenir shop which we drank a cup of free coffee which they lure to get inside their showroom. Not interested in that we talked to our tour guide for Sentosa pass and the wings of fire pass. He helped us in arranging both the tickets at a small discounted price. Our next stop was Faber peak from where we have to take a cable car to reach SENTOSA ISLAND. The bus took us there and before that we made a deal with the tour guide and the bus driver to drop us at Little India while returning at Night. As we are on a half day City tour, dropping us at the end of half day is in the scope but not in the night. We made a deal of 25 SGD for 4 to drop us. The bus took  us to FABER PEAK from where we have to take a cable car.

At faber peak we took some pics of the artificial beautiful  sculptures  before riding the cable car. My better half having was a bit afraid to ride in the cable car. But the cable car she rode at Genting highlands somehow helped her receding some fear.We are now passing over beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views from the cable car. The sea below us was the cherry on the cake making the views from the transparent cable car simply stunning.

Finally after 20 minutes we are in SENTOSA ISLAND and hunger drove us straight to SUBWAY where large number of Indians already having their lunch there. We somehow manage to give our Hotdog order. 2 Chicken and 2 Veg for the ladies. My better half has some reservation in eating hot dog as lunch . She don’t found it at all tasty or she found it almost bland. Situation become worse when she cried as she was not having proper lunch today ,yesterday and day before yesterday as well. Meanwhile we all three able to pacify the situation and thing become normal again. She only ate half of the hot dog which mean she was hungry even after  eating. It was  3 PM we started our journey to explore various places inside sentosa  Island. We roamed around 1 hour inside the Sentosa and took photographs in Madame tussaud, Butterfly and insect park and other locations. By 4 PM we went to SILOSO BEACH to get some relaxation but the beach was not that good. We were surprised to see the famous little Indian TV actor RUHI there.

She was sitting on the rock beside Us. I noticed first and the girls came into action clicking numerous photographs with her. We spend some time over there and as the seen was setting we came back to another cable car station and then went to the tram Station to catch up the sentosa express to go to Palawan Beach. Here we had booked the tickets to see the famous WINGS OF TIME. Breath-taking and astonishing show of light, sound  ,water along with drama followed by extraordinary pyrotechnics made the audience spell bound. No words to describe unless one sees in own eye. The show started by 8 PM and ended by 9.15 . We had made a deal with the driver and the bus dropped at the Little India. It was 10.30 we reached Little India. A few meters away from the bus dropping point we could find one restaurant KOMALA’s Restaurant-Your Vegeterian Restaurant”.

All types of thali was available except North Indian Thali which was byy then completed. As I said earlier, the restaurant closing time at Singapore is 10.30 PM. In contrary one can find food in Little India upto 3 AM if the person who said this is to believed. However we ordered set Thali with cold drinks. The food was more  tastier with extra items including cold drinks we had .We are lot more relieved getting Indian food with home  made style . We quickly ate and went to the nearest SBI ATM and withdrew 120 SGD. The nearest Metro was a throwaway distance from the restaurant “MRT- FARRER PARK”. Farrer park—Little India—Dhobi Ghaut  two stops away. We came out of the Dhobi Ghaut station after being directed by the MRT offices on asking about our Hotel. It was almost 11.30 we reached our hotel. Damn tired today we transferred the pics and saw it on laptop. It was 1 AM we slept with a daunting task of getting up early to reach Universal Studio by 8 .30 AM so that we will be in a queue to get the tickets.
