Second Day At Kuala Lumpur

My eyes opened at 5.30AM  with the view of Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Menara  but this time all the lights were switched off. What a view to start the day. I usually wake up by 5.30 AM and here at Kuala Lumpur is no different. I did some stretching and completed my morning chores and got ready by 7.30 .She got ready by 7.45 AM. By 8 AM we 4 were ready and were in the restaurant in the lobby  for the breakfast. It was all meat except a few and except the English  breakfast  including bread ,eggs ,butter and all the croissant , muffins and the pancakes. As the ladies were acquainted with Indian breakfast , they seem disappointed and without any option and very reluctantly took bread and butter for the breakfast. I noticed one more stall outside the restaurant and went there and to my surprise could find  ROTI CANAI(Its a Malaysian Cuisine and in India it is Lachha Parathha with some added flavour)

.Other than that there were Indian curry ,idly and cauliflower curry as well. I believe their mood swinged towards north as both of then came into action and were happy to get something edible. Meanwhile Mr Chris called at 8.15 AM and was waiting outside the hotel. By 8.45  we were ready to board the car. The people here are very disciplined and punctual. Yesterday I told Mr Chris to reach Hotel at 8.30 AM and he was bang on time. In fact we were late by 15  Minutes. It was quite surprising for us. Anyways we 4 boarded the SUV with perfectly dressed up and straight away headed towards our first stop the Batu Caves. Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu (Stone River), which flows past the hill. It is the tenth (Pattu in Tamil) limestone hill from Ampang. Batu Caves is also the name of a nearby village. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.Batu Caves in short also referred as 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga as there are six important holy shrines in India and four more in Malaysia. The three others in Malaysia are Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, Tanneermalai Temple in Penang and Sannasimalai Temple in Malacca.Reached batu caves by 9.30 and the first site of the place was breathtaking . The huge statue of Lord Murugan standing on the hills of the mountain was a treat to watch. The Pictures we took there were stunning. It can be said as the abode of photographers and we are in the lap of the vista enjoying everything. After taking some photographs we headed towards the foot of the flight of steps which we were supposed to climb to reach the Cave. The number of steps was 272 and it took 30 Minutes to complete this strenuous journey halting every now and then and at the same time intimidated by the largenumber of  Monkeys. Finally we were inside the cave where a few open temples were there having south Indian Hindu God. We made the darshan in no time and get down quickly to proceed to the next destination i.e Genting Highlands. Genting Highlands is located at 5700 ft from sea level due to which the temperature is much cooler i.e below 20 degree. One can find similarity between the weather at Darjeeling and Genting. We drove around 50 KM to reach the Gohtong Jaya the lower station of of genting skyway i.e the cable car, which took us to the top of the Genting highlands .

The cable car ends at the top of the maxim Hotels . The ride was beautiful and mesmerizing. We went through the cool breeze and sometimes got inside the clouds invisible from the outer world. Finally after a 20 minutes cable car ride we reached the top of Genting. Wow the weather was just fantastic.Cool weather exactly opposite of the hot and humid Kuala Lumpur weather. The clouds was playing hide and seek and sometimes we were over the cloud. Genting highlands comprises of chain of hotels, casinos theme parks which were interconnected. One does not require to go outside to go from one place to other ,In fact it is just like a large mall. Genting can be called as little Las Vegas where gambling is legal. The gambling is run by resorts world group which owns all the gambling activities all round the world.

We entered inside the gambling arena. Gambling was played on a vast area comprising of 4 storeys. We witnessed some games but did not understand any and came out . It was lunch time and we were getting hungry. The sole Indian restaurant was too costly to fit our pocket and we decided to have some Pizza from a store “RICH DAD ”.We clicked some photographs near some really costly cars as well as the artificial scenic beauty. Time passed very shortly and Mr Chris came by 4.15 PM to pick us. We then moved out of the Genting highland and proceeded towards chin swee temple.

It was a nice temple to visit situated in the lap of nature with hell amount of greeneries throughout .we clicked some pics there and spent around 30 minutes and proceeded to the Strawberry farm.Nothing much to see there but the ticket price was high. we gave it a miss as we feel it a waste of money . Clicked some pics as a memory and preceded to the butterfly and bee garden. It was a repeat of the same thing.Nothing much to see but ticketing price which was not in line with our budget. The outside view of the garden was awesome and good for photography .Clicked  some pics in fact beautiful pics there and proceeded to Kuala Lumpur. We asked Mr Chris to drop us at PETRONAS Tower as we had brought ticket for 8 PM slot to go for the skybridge. The skybridge is a double decor pathway connecting the 42nd and 43rd  floor of the twin towers. We queued up with a blue badge and in no time we are in the 42nd floor entranced and amazed by Night city scape of Kuala Lumpur.it was an amazing view for the first time at such a height i.e 171 Meters from ground level. We were given 20 minutes at the Skybridge . We took some pics and then we escalate ourselves to the 86th floor of the tower.Total Number of floor in twin towers is 88. From the 86th tower even a demon looks like an ant if you see below. The astonishingly high skyscrapers were looking so tiny which was hard to imagine.

The whole Kuala Lumpur could be seen alighted as if it was an Indian festival of lights. Lights everywhere as if someone has spread pearls on the sea on a full moon night. Every description falls short of the feeling we had experienced. After spending about 30 Minutes,we came down to the ground floor within less than 20 seconds. We straightaway went for dinner at a famous Indian food junction PELITA”.Mr Chris had shown that restaurant while dropping us but we got confused and preceded towards exactly opposite direction. We walked for more than a kilometre but alas we could not find any. After asking locals about the restaurant we again returned back. By that time the ladies were really tired as the smallpizza ceased to generate any energy to walk further..To get some relief we booked a taxi to Palita which was just 100 Meters from Petronas Tower.

We ordered Indian Thali but the ladies found it tasteless as they have used little oil ,no spices ,and all cabbage, radish and carrots. But I enjoyed my dinner and ate to my soul. By 10.30PM we are done with the dinner and waiting for the taxi as we are in no condition to walk to the nearest Metro Station. One green cab with a fat Chinese looking green cab arrived and we are inside the taxi{TEKSI} in no time. The driver named Azhar in his 50s was a jovial person and the interaction for the few minutes we had inside the cab was memorable. We all are laughing by our heart the way he was talking and he too was enjoying our company. By around 11 PM we called it a day. It was yet another wonderful day  without any tiredness as we spent most of the time in the cool weather at Genting highlands. The tour Malaysia was completed with a good note with Mr Azhar which we will cherish further. All the places that were planned was covered in these two days. Love the helping people of Malaysia, love the culture , it was a real secular country as people from Hindu, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians all live in this small place cordially. There was no feeling of outsider which is the beauty of the place.
